November 17, 2017Hi everyone, I am new here. Could`t install an avatar, by the way, so if someone could please help me with that, it would be great. As I am trying to upload the pic, and it says server error.
Now, let me introduce myself. I`m Jeff, and I drive Nissan Titan. It is 2004, and I bought it used in a so-so condition. Now, it`s okay for me that interior is slightly worn out, I realize that the truck is aged. Yet, after I looked underneath, I saw serious rust and corrosion to the frame. So I was wondering, if it is normal to drive a loaded truck with the rusty frame? I assume no, yet, I do not feel like I want to sell the truck. I was wondering if it is okay to just cut out the weak spots and have the stuff professionally welded? Or that`s too risky and I have to get the new chassis parts?
You know, I checked my local junk yards and found nothing for Titans. Now, I checked the aftermarket where they sell frames for cars and trucks which seem to be pretty much okay like https://www.carid.com/chassis-frames.html. Or there is another option to grab a frame off the totaled truck - here the guy sells one on e-bay https://www.ebay.com/itm/R-REAR-SIDE-DOOR-FITS-04-15-TITAN-848292/182771559793?fits=Make%3ANissan%7CModel%3ATitan&hash=item2a8e08ad71:g:FX8AAOSw7L1ZvntX Are they safe to use? Cause I`d  love to save, even if they charge delivery - that`s even not a half of the amount the dealer wants.
